It seems that about every other year, the Wilson family decides to take a big family vacation together and call it a reunion. Because really, most of us live within 20 miles of each other. But there's something about renting a big house on the beach in California (Capastrano) for a week that makes it extra special.
Since we were right on the beach, we learned that MJ has really curly hair in the humidity.
I LOVE Corbin in this picture.
Anxiously waiting to run from the waves.
Crazy hair!
We went searching for sea creatures in the tide pools. They weren't nearly as good as the ones in Oregon, but we still saw plenty of crabs and a few sea anenomes ("squishies").
Our kids spent a lot of time doing this at the tide pools.
Lots of sand play...
MJ found the stairs again and again and...
Reed loved boogie boarding! He got pretty good at it too.
Taryn gave it a try a few times as well.
Liam, Matthew, Reed
We went to a cool park and they still just played in the dirt. :)
I went on an early morning run and saw a pretty sunrise.
Oma set up an awesome scavenger hunt in the area and split the kids into teams to find the clues.
Corbin is a little obsessed with his big cousin, Colin.
Treasures were found!
Taryn playing with her slingshot!
Jake and Corbin
You know you're hard core when you rip your swim shirt boogie boarding.
Oma watched over MJ and Corbin while Kevin and I tried out body surfing.
Sleepy kids
Our attempt at a family selfie
The Candy game with cousins (only a few tears were shed). Somehow our kids made out like bandits!
The sign of a great vacation.

Dude Noo, your kids are getting so big. I cannot believe Reed is 8! What?!?! I love all the hiking pics too. That's one thing we miss. We miss the Utah mountains! Take a hike for me this summer please :)
PS Where was the family reunion you guys did?
Oh we shall hike! Last summer we went on a hike nearly once a week! It was awesome! We went to San Diego with Kevin's family for the reunion.
