Vinyl Party

I threw another vinyl party last night. We painted 3.5" cubes and anything could be put on the blocks. Unfortunately, I always forget to take pictures of the finished products, but here is what I did...(Rynn is the name of a baby girl my friend just had in IL. She is so cute). Other words that people did were "Baby" and "USA." I love vinyl parties. They are so fun! Let me know if anyone out there is interested in coming to these parties, if I haven't already told you about them.

Don't judge a book by its cover

Kevin made some delicious hamburgers the other day. I laughed so hard when I saw how small they turned out...little "meat pellets." The burgers looked a little weird but they sure tasted good. The pictures don't do them justice. But I am grateful to have a husband who likes to cook and is good at it too.

I'm lucky to be alive

I just saw the first spider in our apartment. Yes, he was killed immediately. I'm afraid we might have to move out of necessity sooner than I thought. I HATE SPIDERS!
(I couldn't bring myself to find a picture of a real spider. This one is scary enough).

Waddling Stewart Falls

Our friends Ryan and Jayna invited us to hike Stewart Falls this past Saturday. I was skeptical considering my current condition (8 1/2 months pregnant), but I wanted to at least try. The hike isn't too strenuous, but it does have some inclines, so I had to take several breaks. Luckily, Jayna is pregnant too (8 weeks), so we were in the same boat (that is why we are holding our fingers up in the picture). Happily (and surprisingly), I made it to our destination without dying. I was kind of proud of myself. :)

Blogging Woes

I don't understand how blogging is supposed to work! Gosh, I don't get why my pictures turn out so crazy on the page! Just when I figure out how to rotate a picture, this happens! Grrr...

The Last Baby-less Trip

We drove down to St. George on Thursday afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend there. We didn't have any huge plans (plus I am limited due to the baby growing inside of me), but we wanted to take this last baby-less trip, just the two of us. We went mini-golfing (Kevin thought it would be funny to "shoot" his ball into the hole...I humored him and took a picture); we even got pictures in those fun photo booths--I love those!

We spent a lot of time lounging by the pool and reading. We also drove through Zion's National Park and walked around the St. George Temple at night. It was a trip well worth it!

Happy Anniversary!!!

This past Wednesday we celebrated our 3 year Anniversary! I can't believe it! Kevin got me pretty orange flowers.

Some Girls Have All the Luck

That would be my best friend Lesley.

She called me Saturday night in tears. Tears of joy that is. She had just watched REAL Salt Lake play L.A. Galaxy, not because she likes soccer but because she is obsessed with David Beckham and has been for years now. She went to the game with her sister and former roommate and sat in the 15th row. Lesley is a bold person, so she went down to the first row when she saw a seat open so she could take pictures and yell for Beckham. She said she was one of the few Beckham supporters (which was surprising to me). At one point, she told him to just score a goal. A play later, he did. He came back smiling and pointed at her. Of course, she was thrilled and could've died happy right then. And later on in the game, the same thing happened. She told him to score a goal. And he did. Now he was really smiling at her.

But that's not the best part of the story. After the game, Lesley lingered. All of a sudden, she sees David Beckham walking toward her. He stops and shakes her hand and thanks her for being such a great fan. And THEN, he takes off his jersey and gives it to her! Can you believe that?! She immediately put it on (and, subsequently, will never wash it). She said reporters were asking her who the heck she was for Beckham to give her his jersey. People were asking to take pictures with her and one guy offered her $500 for the jersey on the spot. Here's the short excerpt in the news...

"Beckham, on the other hand, did not disappoint. After the post-game handshake, he took off his jersey and handed it to one very ecstatic teenage girl in the front row, then waved to the rest of the fans as he trotted off the field."

(We thought it was funny they called her a teenager. But c'mon, Posh would've been a little suspicious if he was giving his jersey to "an eligible young woman").

So she cried. Tears of joy.

So what do you do with the sweaty jersey of the guy you've been in love with for years? Do you frame it? Do you wear it everyday? Do you sell it on ebay to make a profit? Who knows. All I know is that Lesley has all the luck. Not that I am a Beckham fan, but I've never known anyone who has met more famous people than she has. I was really happy for her.

Swimsuits and Bras

I didn't know shopping with your husband could be so fun. I had to buy a swimming suit for our upcoming trip to St. George, so Kevin actually said he wanted to go with me. Let me preface this entry by saying that I haven't shopped for a new swimsuit since maybe the beginning of high school. Thus my current swimsuit is practically see-through it's so worn out. Kevin thought he could convince me to get a bikini--yeah right! Even when I didn't have a huge stomach would I ever get caught dead in a bikini! No one wants to see that.

Anyway, the experience was a lot more fun than I anticipated. They let Kevin come in the dressing room as I tried on several maternity swimsuits (nothing went on, sickos). And even though he's okay with me showing major cleavage, he knows that it's not my style. He was really helpful and honest in what looked good. It was awesome (and impressive)! So I found a swimsuit that I liked at the very first store...that never happens!

Nursing bras were a different story. It took a little longer to figure out what fit right. I had to have the girl in the store check me out and see if my boobs looked good in the bras. Holy wow, I had no idea my boobs grew so much...and will grow even more after I'm breastfeeding (or so I hear). It's quite ridiculous and I don't like it much. Overall, the shopping trip was successful.

We ended the night by going through some stores for Kevin, his favorite being the video game store. I guess there's always a give and take.
