Movie Afternoon

Sunday afternoons, all of us watch a Disney movie together. We love it, Reed loves it, and now Taryn loves it.

A little bit of watching.

But 2 minutes later when the popcorn is done, the begging starts.

The sharing.

The grabbing.

And the meltdown when your older brother just isn't fast enough getting popcorn to your mouth.

Every Sunday.

Everyday things

This girl loves the dishwasher. Of course, now the hinge is broken. I'm afraid that may have been her doing. She's no lightweight.

I really love 3 year olds. Everything Reed plays with becomes something else. They are in a boat.

Sometimes they get along.

So dangerous, but they both love to play on the elliptical. No one has bled yet...oh, wait. May as well let them play with knives, geez.

Sometimes we try to be creative. This is Reed's car.

That can't be good. Such a climber.

Well, not every day. But for Valentine's Day, of course!

Both of my kids have such a sweet tooth! I have become way more lax with Taryn, but man alive, Reed would literally eat a pound of brown sugar in a sitting if I let him. I can tell already that Taryn could be worse. But yeah, we eat cookies.

Potty Trained

We decided to take the plunge in November and potty train Reed. I read the "Potty Train in a Day" book and took a lot of advice. I didn't follow it exactly and he certainly wasn't potty trained in a day, but he was trained in 3 days and trained through the night probably a week more. Reed did MUCH better than I thought he would. I definitely believe that it is 95% the child and 5% the parent. If Reed didn't want to do it, I really don't think I could have forced him. So it only took 2 days to convince him that he wanted to. :) So we're not exactly where I want to be (still uses the little potty to poop--pees on the big toilet--he's weird) and needs help wiping, but I am not complaining.

Mastered.

Park in the winter

Thanks to milder weather this winter, we've been able to get to the park quite a bit.

"How many spaces can I fit into?"

Sledding

We took advantage of the snowfall early one Monday morning a few weeks ago. I actually begged Kevin to come too--I mean, what's the point of being self-employed if you can't just spontaneously go sledding during the week? Good thing we did too, because all the snow was melted by the afternoon.

Can you see Reed? Sledding is was of my favorite past times. I HAVE to do it every year.

Reed was such a trooper.

Frozen baby. "It's all part of the experience, Taryn."

Reed loved it. Taryn wasn't so sure.

All by himself! He yelled "Wahoo!" as he went down. Made me so proud. :)
