Muddy Buddies

As a mom, I am anal about a few things--bedtime, naps, juice intake--but one thing I am not is how messy and dirty my kids get. In fact, I encourage it. So the other day when the weather was so nice (see Reed wearing shorts and a t-shirt in March!), Reed and I were reading books on our porch. He lost interest after a little while, so I grabbed my own book and sat outside with him. He really was just looking at the dirt at first and poking around with our watering can.

But then it turned into this. Sure, he's happy, Taryn is still napping, and I get to read a book. Win-win.

And this.

And the porch was a mess.

Yeah, he'll probably need a bath.

Reed thought he was done, but then Taryn woke up and she wanted in on the fun too.

How could you deny that face?

Teamwork

Reed

Taryn...never both at the same time, of course.

Getting the feet involved.

They were both in the zone!

"There's not enough mud in this one."

Reed couldn't resist the white canvas.

Whoops, missed a spot.

Soooo tempting....

Oh baby.

I love it! That is exactly what kids should be doing :) and the resemblance between your daughter and mine is kind of crazy! I actually showed Blaine a picture of Taryn the other day before telling him who it was and he thought it was such a cute picture of Cleo (our daughter)! So crazy! We need to get them together in person to see it in real life. With the cuteness of them it really is a blessing to the world that there are 2! :)

Oh my! I LOVE this so much! We have a picture of Riley has summer after he had been playing in some mud! It was the smallest amount of mud, but he seemed to have every inch of his body covered in it! A bath was required, but he had so much fun!
