Soccer seasons

Reed: 

This was Reed's 6th season playing soccer (he played in the spring and fall for 3 years in a row).  We've been with the same coach and most of the same kids for the past 2 years.  We love Coach Trent!  He is so good with the kids.  Reed prefers to play defense and spent a couple games in the goal as well (eek!).  To be honest though, this season was a bit hard to watch.  The field got bigger, and it was the first year with goalies.  A lot more running, and Reed doesn't love to run.  Or be hot.  Or too cold.  Enough said.  

Their little team only won one game, but they played their hearts out.

Taryn:

 This was Taryn's first experience playing any sport.  She seemed to enjoy it, especially at the beginning of the season.  Then she realized that what she really wanted was the treat.  Not much has changed with that girl.  Her team was undefeated, and Taryn scored 2 goals, however.  She was pretty excited about that.

Snails!

Taryn is a lover of all living things.  After a good rain in late spring, we had an enormous amount of snails along the fence in our backyard.  I was finishing up something in the front yard and went in the back to check on the kids.  And this is what I found...

It would've really grossed me out if they hadn't been so dang happy about it. :)

Preschool Graduation

Taryn graduated preschool.  This year, Denise Brinley, was her teacher whom we love!  Reed had her for a year, but she only teaches 4-5 year olds so we had to wait until Taryn was old enough.

Hiking season

We had a very successful hiking season this spring and summer.  And if you know my kids, that's saying a lot.  And when I say success, I mean we did a lot of hikes.  Taryn is usually happy to hike.  Especially if there are places she can climb.  Reed hates it.  Always will.  The kid just doesn't like to sweat.  Ever.  He always complains about going and usually at the beginning but he's finally realized that it doesn't really change the fact that he has to hike.  So he just focuses on getting to the end.  Corbin often sticks with Taryn and tries to do what she does.  But about 50% of the time, he gets tired of walking and I've had to carry him.  Yes, I carry MJ on my back, so I've had double riders before.  Not my favorite.  MJ was an awesome hiker 90% of the time.  

Our first hike was Battlecreek Falls in Pleasant Grove.

Fun with friends

Most days of the week, our house is hopping with friends.  It's exactly what I want and of course the kids love it too.  We do lots of things with our friends...

Cousin Egg Hunt

We had our annual easter egg hunt at Oma's house.  As we got into the van to leave, it wouldn't start.  We had to pile 4 kids into our little Hyundai Elantra.  All the cousins were there and they had a blast!  We love living close to family!
