Going to the "beach"

We thought there was a really nice sandy area in Provo Canyon near Deer Creek. Turns out we were wrong. We made the most of it and the kids still liked it. Not really sand though, more like tiny gravel.

Taryn was totally in her zone the first 15 min.

and getting donuts. :) Apparently Reed really enjoyed going to the "beach," because he drew a picture of it the following Sunday. Totally worth it.

We tried out Joy School for the first time this year. Reed absolutely loved it! I am by no means a teacher, but I mostly had a fun time too. ;) Overall, I am really glad we did it.

Chores

Reed has a few "jobs" around here, but lately he is starting to give a fight when I ask him to do anything. I think his chores need to be a little more organized rather than me just randomly asking him to put the silverware away. What kinds of chores do your kids do and do you have a chore chart and/or a reward system attached to it?

Growing up

This girl has been refusing her booster chair over the past 2 months or more. This just about sums up her personality. She wants to be big and she wants to do everything herself! Very opposite of Reed at 16 months, that's for sure. We call her our "Teenaged baby" or the "Me too girl," because she has to do what Reed does--what he plays with, what he eats, everything! (Haha, I just noticed Taryn's eyes in this picture--see, she's checking out what Reed is doing!) But she sure is cute.
